Why October

Peak foliage (late Oct), the year's strongest inbound month — 2026 is tracking toward more than 15 million visitors in Jan–Aug 2026 alone. Hotels know it. The premium is calendar-driven, not quality-driven: the same room costs a third less in February.

What to do — the timing play

  1. Shift to weekdays: Sunday–Thursday nights run ~15% under Friday–Saturday in October.
  2. Look one subway stop out: Euljiro instead of Myeongdong, Hapjeong instead of Hongdae — same transit, lower band.
  3. Coming in November? Book now: rates drop ~20% the week after peak foliage ends.
  4. Free cancellation is the weapon: book refundable now, re-check the price weekly, rebook if it drops.
