Climate Card: Seoul's ₩5,000 Unlimited Day Pass
Every tourist guide tells you about T-money. Almost none mention the Climate Card — Seoul's unlimited-ride pass. If you ride 3 or more times a day, it beats everything else in the city.
1-day: ₩5,000 3-day: ₩10,000 7-day: ₩20,000
The price-checked numbers
| Option | Card cost | 1-day unlimited | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Climate Card (short-term) | ₩3,000 | ₩5,000 | 3+ rides/day in Seoul |
| T-money (pay per ride) | about ₩4,000 (card) | — | 1–2 rides/day, nationwide |
| WOWPASS | ₩5,000–10,000 | — | Shopping + transit combo |
A single Seoul subway ride costs ~₩1,550. Three rides ≈ ₩4,500 — already near the ₩5,000 day-pass price. Four rides and the Climate Card wins outright, and most sightseeing days hit 4–6 rides easily.

The catches
- Seoul only. It doesn't cover the AREX Express from Incheon Airport, and you can't board at Incheon Airport station with it.
- Separate card. ₩3,000 for the physical card, on top of the pass price.
- Buy at: convenience stores and Seoul Metro customer centers — not at the airport.
The rule of thumb
Staying in Seoul + 3 rides/day or more → Climate Card. Day trips outside Seoul or light transit days → T-money. Shopping with foreign cash → WOWPASS. Full comparison in our T-money vs WOWPASS guide.
Ride Seoul for less
Pair the Climate Card with the airport option that fits your group — card for the city, the right ride for the airport run it doesn't cover.
